This article is a guide on all the slash commands in Microsoft Teams. These commands can make a variety of tasks within Microsoft Teams easier to accomplish for the user. Below is the complete list, along with descriptions and demonstrations of each.
New Teams Slash Commands
/chat
This command allows you to quickly send a message to any person in your directory.
Note: This is the only slash command exclusively on the New Version of Teams.
/available
This sets your status to available.
/away
This command sets your status to away.
/busy
This command sets your status to busy.
/dnd
This command sets your status to do not disturb.
/call
This command allows you to call a phone number or Teams contact.
Old Teams Slash Commands
/files
This command allows you to see your recent files. This included all files that you have opened or sent through teams.
/goto
This command allows you to go right to a team or channel. Type the command and then enter the name of the team and channel. This does not work for private conversations or group chats.
/help
This command opens the help menu for Microsoft Teams.
/join
This command allows you to join a team if you know the code of the team or if the team is visible to your organization.
/keys
This command brings up a list of all commands within the Microsoft Teams environment.
/mentions
This command brings up all the mentions within any conversation or team chat that you were in.
/saved
This command brings up a list of all saved messages that a user has made.
/testcall
This command starts a call that allows you to test your speakers, camera, and mic. Useful for debugging calling issues in Teams.
/unread
This command brings up all unread messages from every chat you are a part of.
/whatsnew
This command brings up the what’s new information menu in Microsoft Teams.
